Effect of ILDTS and inception of ITC operators on QoS parameters for International Telecommunication Transmission in Bangladesh

Md Moshiur Rahman, Ebad Zahir

Despite of long telecommunication history of Bangladesh, recent encouraging policies of Government of Bangladesh had made significant impact in the telecommunication value chain. ILDTS 2010 resulted in new regime of ILDC operators named ITC to serve in parallel to lone submarine cable of the country. 06 ITC operators contributed significantly to the QoS of service delivery options. The relevant QoS Parameters were examined using simulated network and also data collected from operators. There was less significance in improvement of Throughput and latency. However, the improvement in case of network availability is found remarkable. Adding a new submarine cable has further improved the QoS situation significantly.
