An Efficient Face Recognition Algorithm Using Colour Grid Movement Analysis

A computer application by which automatically identifies or verify a person from a digital image or video, one of the ways to do this is by comparing selected facial features from the image and a facial database. The proposed work is an evaluation of different techniques by which the facial recognition becomes an efficient technique. In order to find an optimum method this study is performed, the study includes a list of similar domain works and efforts that are providing us guidelines. Therefore PCA (principal component analysis), and CBIR (content based image retrieval) is included in this study, both methods are many promising and frequently used for image content analysis. Additionally a content based facial recognition method is designed and developed in this study. The algorithm is designed based on a grid Colour movement based image analysis. This method is used for feature extraction from the captured image from image source, Use of feature extraction technique help to extract image efficiently. The implementation of the desired technique is given using visual studio dot net environment which is a programmer friendly IDE and support high level programming. The performance of PCA and content based facial recognition system is evaluated over different performance parameters. Results show that resource required to evaluate an image is less consumed with respect to the PCA.
